Tomorrow marks a great day of celebrating all the good things in life with our human friends and families – and if we’re lucky our horses too. We know that we have so much for which to give thanks. But more importantly, the horses of Freedom Farm wanted to chime in and tell you what they are thankful for this year. So without further ado, we turn the blog today over to our horses.
Happy and Healthy at Freedom Farm
First and foremost, the Arabians of Freedom Farm are thankful that they are happy and healthy. They had a great show year and are glad to be at home relaxing for the fall. They are also looking forward to getting their Thanksgiving Day carrot treats and to having their Christmas stockings hung on their stalls. They are thankful for their large, roomy stalls and a cozy barn as the weather gets colder. Most importantly, they are thankful for their host of well-trained humans who bring food all throughout the day, lavish them with all the best comforts, provide regular spa services, and are available at their beckon call.
Once In A Lifetime Experiences at WEG
Two of Freedom Farm’s most beloved horses, national champion side saddle mare The Big Oh! and all-time winningest Arabian Park Horse stallion Aequus, are thankful for the opportunity to participate in the 2010 World Equestrian Games earlier this fall. Both got to strut their stuff during the Arabian breed segment of the WEG opening ceremonies.
That’s Aequus in the red saddle and his trainer Bill wearing Sheik al Faisal’s native costume.
And The Big Oh! is looking gorgeous as ever with amateur rider Raegan Knotts aboard in her blue side saddle habit modeled after the Empress of Austria’s costume.
The Big Oh! and Aequus are also thankful for the horse fans young and old who admired and visited with them at the Arabian breed demonstration in the Equine Village of WEG.
